Our Favorite Winter Recipes

While fermented foods are often associated with summer, there are many delicious ways to use Bubbies products in winter recipes too!

Winter Stew

Isn’t it amazing that stew, one of the world’s oldest comfort foods, can be made from just two ingredients simmered in a liquid? While that is the bare-bones recipe, making a really soul-satisfying stew requires a few more ingredients, maybe even one that is a little unexpected. That’s where Bubbies Sauerkraut comes in. Its tang and texture are the perfect complement to the sweetness of the vegetables. Add a little more sauerkraut on top for garnish and you’ve got a stew that will chase the chill from any winter night.

Serve these fritters with fried eggs for a satisfying breakfast or dinner. Whip up a batch as a quick side for grilled meats.

Pickled Whiskey Sour

Cocktail historians agree that the first time a recipe for a whiskey sour appeared in print was in “The Bartender’s Guide” written by Jerry Thomas and published in 1862. Made with just three ingredients – spirits, sweetener, and a citrus component – the basic whiskey sour combination is still delicious 150 years later, but improved with Bubbies pickle brine!
